In Tuscaloosa, Alabama the world revolves around one thing The University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide. But on April 27, 2011 everything changed. An EF4 tornado ripped through the small college town and changed it forever.

Carson Tinker, the starting long snapper for the 2011 and 2012 National Champion Crimson Tide, was among those forever changed by the events of April 27. Tinker lost his girlfriend Ashley Harrison to the storm, but not his faith.

In the midst of unfathomable destruction, Tinker saw love, companionship, perseverance, and triumph in a community torn apart by a natural disaster. Where everyone else saw tragedy, Carson Tinker saw blessing. Following the storm, the Crimson Tide suited up to face their most challenging season to date. Tinker’s personal story guides readers through what cannot be described any other way than a season to remember.

A Season to Remember edition by Carson Tinker Religion Spirituality eBooks

If I could give a higher score than 5 stars for this wonderful book, I certainly would. But, I admit I am biased. Carson's grandparents (Jim and Deanna Cartledge) have been close friends of my family for almost 30 years. The courage and trust in God's power and grace that Carson writes of is lived out every day by them.

I will never forget the day of this tornado. My wife, son and I were in our basement, watching the tornado chew up Tuscaloosa on a local TV station. What we did not know at that time was that we were watching the tornado demolish Carson's house, hurling him across the street and killing his girlfriend. Only later did we find out the horror of it from Deanna.

To the reviewer that commented about the lack of truthfulness in the book, you are absolutely wrong. You apparently do not know Carson and also did not follow the events of that day and the days following. I can testify that Carson is genuine. His love of football is certainly evident in this book, but so is his love of Christ and his trust in Him to carry anyone through the toughest circumstances.

Also, Carson announced on local TV that he is donating all the proceeds from the book to charity.

A Season to Remember edition by Carson Tinker Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

Tinker recounts the devastation of the tornado which tore through Tuscaloosa in 2011 and the loss of his girlfriend and two dogs. He too had to overcome injuries. He addresses the spiritual support he received and his personal walk with God through these tragedies. Carson already knew God is his source, but he understands even more after applying the scriptures he studied in the midst of this time. He also speaks of the community service of the University of Alabama football team and the national championship season. A Season to Remember will bring you to tears and encourage you in your personal battles.
This book is well written and hold your attention. It speaks of a strong faith in God under very tragic circumstances. Carson Tinker is a person who is not ashamed to stand up for his faith even it is not popular todo so.

I strongly recommend this book to High School and College athletes. I particularly recommend the book to anyone struggling with the loss of a loved one.

For me, it was one of those reads you could not lay aside for even a moment!
As an Alabama fan who had a son attending the University of Alabama at the time of the Tuscaloosa tornado I had followed the story of Carson Tinker with a lot of interest. I remember the anxious hours following the tornado, waiting to hear from my son that he and his roommates who lived off campus were safe. Fortunately they were safe on campus.
Carson's story of faith and perseverance greatly encouraged me and I have shared it with several people since reading the book. I highly recommend it for people who are facing great obstacles and tests and find themselves asking, "why me?" Also I think it would be a great book for emergency workers to share and for people in towns and cities that have been hit by tragedies and disasters.
What an inspiration Carson is to everyone he meets. I like to have my children read books about young people who have risen to the occasion, taken a horrible situation and shined their light in spite of it. This book does that and more. It ranks right up their with Bethany Hamilton's Surfer Girl.
If you think this is about football, you will be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of references to the amazing success of that team. But what this is about is the trials, tribulations, and sufferings of a man, team, and community to a devastating natural disaster. This is about how all of them in general, and Carson Tinker in particular, overcame the tragedy of that horrible April day. A forward by Nick Saban, and a prologue by Dr Kevin Elko are both special.

Carson, if you read your reviews, you are a very special young man. God be with you always. I will keep Ashley, Josie, and B in my prayers.
Carson's story is an inspiring & refreshing approach to excruciatingly difficult circumstances. His willingness to give God the glory gives me chills and makes me proud to call him a brother in Christ. Thanks Carson & we wish all the best to you & Annie!
As an Alabama native and an avid University of Alabama football fan, I knew that the long snapper of Alabama's team had lost his girlfriend in the horrible tornado. I knew they had been together at the time the storm hit Tuscaloosa. I had no idea that he had also been badly hurt and would take months to heal.

I love this book for the depth of character of Carson Tinker. He truly has a servant's heart.

I also loved A SEASON TO REMEMBER because of some of the insights he shared about Coach Saban and the team.

I was surprised at the level of writing and some of the literary ways in which he expressed himself....not a lot of that, but there were flashes of sheer brilliance.

I pray that God will cloak Carson Tinker in his cloak of care for a very long time. Kudos to his parents for raising an amazing young man, despite some serious health problems of their own.
